Brisbane Pride Fair Day is Queensland’s biggest LGBTIQ event that takes place in September each year. Originating in Musgrave Park the festival originally took place in June before being shifted to September many years ago and eventually moving to it’s new home in New Farm Park.
Each year the festival attracts thousands of visitors both for our Pride March and for Fair Day itself as visitors enjoy a fantastic day in the sun featuring over 100 community stalls, food vendors, our famous Queer Beer tent, two stages of fantastic live entertainment and our informative and fun adults only pavilion. This an all ages family friendly event, including entertainment and family stalls and information for the whole community.
Pride Fair Day generally takes place on the last or second last Saturday of September, during Brisbane Pride month. The 2019 date is not confirmed, but is tentatively set as the 21st of September as we work together with council and other key stakeholders, it is likely this date will be confirmed shortly.
The pride march takes place at the corner of Brunswick and Ann St, with crowds beginning to gather at approximately, 9:30am and speeches commencing around 10am. Following this the crowd marches down Brunswick St towards New Farm Park. Exact details and timing of the 2019 event will be released as they are confirmed. Marching is 100% free for all members of our community to attend.
Those wishing to march as a group are welcomed and encouraged. Whilst marching as a group is free, we ask that all groups larger than 10 register via our website to assist with numbers and planning for the march. Each year our parade is lead by our local First Nations people and Dykes on Bikes.
