In case you hadn’t heard, Brisbane Pride Festival has kicked off and we’re counting down the days to Queensland’s biggest LGBTIQA+ party, Fair Day.
To help you all get in through the gates quickly and speed up transactions once you’re at New Farm Park, we’re introducing some changes we want you to know about.
First things first…I’m a realist… and we’re reducing the number of cash transactions at the gate. There will only be one…repeat..one gate accepting cash for entry into Fair Day this year.
Why, we hear you ask? Cash slows things down…what, with the counting and the coins and fumbling and the dropping the coins and the “HURRY UP” behind you…. We want to get you inside (insert obvs joke here) and partying as quickly as possible!
Second things…um…second? There will be no transactions at the bar. You’ll have to buy drink tickets from the Drink Tickets Booth. At the booth, there will be one register accepting cash only. Again, this is to speed things up both at the bar and at the booth. Full pricing will be on display at the booth.
Thirdly, the Pride Uncensored Pavilion will be returning in 2016. You will need your photo ID to enter and a gold coin for donation. This is strictly an 18+ zone. No ID, no entry.
To help you out, we’ve created this handy checklist:
- Photo ID
- Brisbane Pride Membership Card
- Bank card for EFT and Pay Wave payments
- Some gold coins for entry to the #ComePrEPd Uncensored Pavilion
P.S. Make sure you bring plenty of sunscreen! Spring in Queensland is basically summer (am I right?) and you don’t want to get burnt or turn into a 70 year-old handbag.
