Why we march
The Pride Rally and March is the part of the festival that remembers what Pride is for. We gather, we hear from the people doing the work, and then we walk together through the street.
It is free and open. You do not need to register as an individual: turn up and walk. Groups and banner contingents register so the marching order can be planned.
Speeches from community leaders, activists and allies before the march steps off.
Riders lead, the giant rainbow flag follows, and behind it come community groups, floats, families and friends.
The march finishes where Fair Day is held, so the day carries straight on into the park.
Free and open
LGBTIQA+ people, allies, families, friends and supporters. Whether this is your first march or your fortieth, there is a place for you in it.
Lend a hand
The march needs people to run it safely. One form covers the Rally and March and Fair Day, so put your hand up for either or both.
A rally of speeches followed by a march through the street, held each year as part of the Brisbane Pride Festival. It finishes where Fair Day is held, so the two run as one day.
This year the Rally and March is on Saturday 24 October 2026, gathering from 9am. See the Rally and March 2026 page for the run sheet and the gathering point.
Not as an individual. It is free and open, so you can simply turn up. If you are bringing a group or a banner contingent, please register so we can plan the marching order. This year’s form is on the Rally and March 2026 page.
Yes. The march is for everyone who believes in equality: LGBTIQA+ people, allies, families and friends. Bring whoever you want beside you.
Whatever makes you feel proud, with shoes you can walk in. Bring water, sunscreen and a hat. Flags and placards are very welcome.
The route changes from year to year, so accessibility arrangements are published on that year’s page before the day. If you have an access requirement, contact us ahead of time and we will work it out with you.
